Education and Training

​

UC Berkeley graduated 1994 with honors 

    Majoring in molecular neurobiology

    Emphasis in bioethics and public policy.

    Conducted bench top genetics and protein research in internship at National Institutes of Health 

UC Irvine College of Medicine graduated 1998 with life membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society

    Became interested in neurology and psychiatry during the “Decade of the brain”

    Studied meditation and transpersonal psychology with Roger Walsh, MD, PhD

    Received additional training in addiction as professional in residence at Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA

Stanford Psychiatric Residency graduated 2002

    Areas of focus:

      Psychopharmacology 

      Psychotherapy:  focus on psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral,  existential, and Jungian 

      Neuropsychology 

      Neuropsychiatry

      Extensive training in group therapy and treatment of addiction

Work settings In addition to my private practice:

      County of Sonoma Staff Psychiatrist since 2002

           -Providing psychiatric treatment for low income patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses

      Assistant Clinical Professor U.C. San Francisco School of Medicine - on faculty since 2002. 

           - Instructing  Family Medicine Residents in behavioral medicine

           - Supervising the Santa Rosa Health Center weekly Psychiatric Consultation clinic 

      ANKA/Casa Rohnert Park Crisis Residential Unit, 2006-2019  

          - Consultant psychiatrist to 6 bed residential crisis unit for Kaiser members

      Frequent Psychiatric consultant to:    

          - California Department of Rehabilitation

          - Pacifica Pain Management

          - Olympia House Residential Drug and Alcohol treatment program
